A love story:
Solene and Gauthier met while studying abroad in Italy. Solene was French and Gauthier was Swiss, and they bonded over their shared love of art history and languages. They spent long hours exploring museums, galleries and cafes together, and slowly their friendship blossomed into romance.
Years later, Solene and Gauthier decided it was time to make their commitment official and elope. Gauthier surprised Solene by taking her on a trip to Lofoten (the North Pole!), checking into a cozy chalet in the mountains surrounded by the ocean and the deep nordic nature such as polar bears and whales. The next morning, they packed a picnic and hiked up a trail overlooking a glistening glacier valley.
When they arrived at a secluded meadow, Solene was surprised to find their friend Bjorn waiting to officiate. Gauthier and Solene smiled at each other radiating happiness, as they exchanged handwritten vows professing their eternal love. A few curious mountain goats watched from a distance as Bjorn declared them married under the vas sky.
Solene and Gauthier enjoyed their picnic, chatting and laughing as they took in the breathtaking natural scenery. They explored the meadow, stopping to admire wildflowers or share tender kisses taking selfies to capture the magical day. As the sun began to set, bathing the mountains in a rosy glow, Solene and Gauthier felt profoundly grateful for their elopement adventure and the start of their life together in the place that first brought them together years ago.
“Renting accommodation at least 35 minutes drive, it is a very isolated place at the end of the fjord. Sheep may be present. The place is very easy to access with a short 10 minute walk. It offers views of the fjord and mountains with a small waterfall” - Sophie Brioudes
