Saying “I do” in Spain

The sunkissed country of Spain is full of well-known and vibrant cities as well as those little hidden treasures that are just ideal for intimate elopements. Madrid and Barcelona are simply ideal for stylish couples looking for an urban elopement, while the Costa del Sol and Costa Brava land themselves for an intimate beach elopement. Moreover, the Sierra Nevada and the Pyrenees are fantastic options for adventurous couples who wish to say “I do” amongst the forest, mountains, and lakes.

Why Elope to Spain

Eloping to Spain is the perfect decision for an array of our couples and it’s easy to see why. First thing first, as our team is based in Barcelona, we’re able to organize pretty much anything in this stunning city - from last-minute elopements to destination weddings with guests (although we don’t recommend having more than 10 in order for the couple to still experience the essence and benefits of an elopement).

Spain truly features an array of breathtaking landscapes, from the stunning beaches and mountains to the historic charm of its dynamic cities, we’re sure you’ll be able to find your dream wedding elopement destination here. This Mediterranean country went through a lot of different eras influencing its architecture, food, and culture. The area used to be a part of the Roman Empire, then with the influence of Jewish, Muslim, and Christian cultures living all together around the 12th Century, the Mudejar style evolved, which is still visible on some of Spain’s most iconic buildings (such as Alhambra in Granada), especially in the South, while the North had more Ghotic influences (seen in the Barcelona’s cathedral). Baroque signified the next big era which lasted roughly from the 16th to the 18th Century (noted in Spain’s Royal Palace in Madrid). These dynamic historical influences and more make Spain a fantastic wedding elopement destination for couples looking to elope to Europe.

Spain also has a generally mild and sunny climate with plenty of destinations that you can enjoy all year round, such as the Canary Islands or Granada and Seville in Andalusia. But the weather is not the only thing warm in Spain, so is the hospitality. Spaniards are known for their welcoming nature and have a wide range of interesting traditions such as flamenco dance and music, neighborhood parties, and other local customs that will make your destination wedding super memorable.

Last but not least, once in Spain, traveling around Spain or to other neighboring countries (such as Portugal, France, and Italy) is easy, making it a convenient destination for your upcoming honeymoon. If you do decide to stay in Spain, we suggest exploring romantic cities like Barcelona, Madrid, and Seville, relaxing on the pristine beaches of Ibiza, Menorca, and Mallorca, or enjoying the scenic views of the Pyrenees mountains.
